Fiat has listened to 500 model line fans and realized that not all the customers could afford the Abarth’s price tag or were willing to wait for one to come available. The new 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo will hit the streets with solid performance and great looks. The new 500 turbo sits almost dead in the center in the horse power range with 135 ponies at the ready.
Fiat hopes the new 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo is a hit here in the States. They are really hoping the new 135 horsepower model bridges the gap in the sales department. The Fiat engineers have been busy here retuning the Abarth turbo engine down a notch from 160 horsepower but still retaining the fun feel of the turbo. Many pieces and parts find their way from the Abarth to the 2013 Fiat 500 Turbo; including the manual 5 speed transmission, final drive gearing, lower control arms, half shafts, cv joints and the greats brakes. Fiat will borrow from the Sport model the rear torsion bar suspension, spring rates, shock tuning and the electronic assisted power steering.
