2014 Jaguar F-Type Forging Its Own Path
Jaguar has announced that the 2014 Jaguar F-Type will go on sale in the United States sometime in the summer of 2013. The new cat will only be available in the roadster form with rumors of a retractable hard top to come in time. The new roadster is a welcome sight here in the States with high hopes that there is a little of the classic E-Type DNA in the new car.
The new 2014 Jaguar F-Type will be available in three models each with a different performance output. A tuned 340 horsepower 3.0 V/6 engine is shared with other Jaguar cars. Then a 380 horsepower 3.0 V/6 will see duty in the F-Type model with 0-60 5.1 and 4.8 seconds respectively. For those in need of serious power there is a 5.0 V/8 producing 495 horsepower and 460 lbs of torque to send the new F-Type to speeds near 190 mph. Backing all three of the engine choices is an 8 speed rev matching automatic transmission with paddle shift controls.
The interior is all business with manual adjusting sport seats and a grab handle to entertain the passenger when the Jaguar is stopped in traffic. There are up grade performance power seats and a Meridian audio system available with 10 or 12 speakers and 380 or 770 watts to enjoy Born to Run by the Boss in pure style. The convertible soft top is lined in Thinsulate and is operated by power. When the top is folded there is no need for a tonneau cover.
The new car keeps the tradition alive with the tried and true front engine and rear wheel drive layout. Muscle and simplicity is also retained in the new roadster just as in the old, but other than that the 2014 Jaguar F-Type is forging its own path.
